The different styles of mixer showers
You may get confused when trying to order a mixer shower as there are 3 different types. Here we will try to explain each one in detail to assist you in ordering.
Exposed or EV showers

An exposed or EV shower is where the main shower valve is exposed. You can either hide the pipe work in the wall or run it externaly and feed in the shower from the top or bottom. The connection to the shower is outside the wall and connect directly into the shower valve. This type of shower is most commonly used on solid or brick wall where you cannot fit the depth of the shower valve into the wall.
Conealed or BIV shower

A concealed or BIV shower is where the shower valve is built into the wall and a flexible kit comes out of the wall about 300mm from the shower valve. The beauty of this type of this installation is that most of the shower valve is in the wall but you still enjoy the benefit of a flexible kit. This type of shower can only be used on a stud or false wall.
Fixed hear or BIR shower

A fixed head or BIR shower is where most of the shower valve is hidden into a wall and there is no hose with the shower but instead there is a fixed shower head on an arm coming out of the wall. You can only use this typoe of shower on a stud or false wall as the shower valve is inserted about 50mm into the wall. You can only have a stand up shower with this type as there is no flexible kit.
