In a better light

It is important to consider that to most consumers a kitchen is a major purchase that they will expect to last for a number of years; therefore it is important to ‘future proof as much as possible, all aspects of the kitchen. And lighting is no exception. This can be done by embracing the most up-to-date and energy efficient products.

When choosing showroom displays, it is imperative to offer as wide a choice of lighting as possible. Customers will have different requirements. Some will want their display lighting to work in addition to the main ceiling light, so the lamp will need to be bright. Under cabinet strip lights which use up to 121 pure white LEDs can create a super bright lighting option. The fact that these lights can be connected to run in series is also a useful touch.

Others will require mood lighting or simply wish to highlight certain features. There are lighting kits available with lamp with 12 white LEDs to give a softer more subtle light. They may be recessed or surface mounted. Or look for recessed LED plinth lighting kits that are also popular.

Although’ low energy’ and ‘energy efficient’ are the latest buzz words, the traditional fluorescent tube, which covers both of these, has been used for years. Adjustable fluorescent under cabinet lights add a modern twist to the traditional strip light. I often find that many showrooms seem to forget the ceiling when thinking about displays. Most showrooms have a huge expanse of ceiling, so why not utilise this asset and use lighting that you can sell from?
